The Director leads and coordinates a wide range of value, access and pricing activities to demonstrate the value of BMS inline brands in Multiple Myeloma and Lymphoma (MML), to ensure that patients have timely access to these treatments.

Areas of Accountability

Ensure successful and sustainable affiliate execution of P&MA strategies to maximize commercial opportunity and patient access Provide on-time and appropriate support for each new reimbursement, launch and lifecycle management event Engage with cross-functional and affiliate teams to share insight, inform business decisions and drive functional performance at all levels.

The Director will directly engage with core and extended market affiliates outside of the USA, including Western Europe, Canada and Japan. Rest-of World markets are indirectly supported through the VAP Intercontinental team.

Major Responsibilities

The primary internal stakeholders are Affiliate VAP teams. To support these colleagues, the Director will:

  • Create and manage VAP execution tools, structures and processes

    • Disseminate value packages and VAP resources aligned with affiliate timing needs
    • Plan, organize and execute affiliate training on VAP topics
    • Provide regular reports on VAP performance vs. pricing and access targets and frameworks, working closely with VAP Analytics teams
    • Prepare and update management and reporting tools (e.g. Business Case Tracker) for progress tracking, interacting with VAP Strategy, HEOR and affiliate leads.
  • Drive VAP strategy execution

    • Develop pricing frameworks and annual price targets in collaboration with the Worldwide Pricing team and MML Pricing Analytics leads
    • Optimize launch sequencing, assessing price-volume trade-offs and price referencing implications, identifying opportunities to accelerate or delay launches
    • Review HTA strategy and list/net pricing for priority markets prior to submission
    • Support affiliate business cases for pricing exceptions
    • Input to business planning (short-, mid- and long-term) and ongoing analytics (e.g. reference pricing simulations, scenario analyses)
  • Support strategy development with the VAP Strategy team

    • Input to MML strategy, championing extended market perspectives as needed
    • Identify data gaps and evidence needs, working with HEOR and Medical Affairs to strengthen value propositions as the competitive environment evolves
    • Monitor market and competitive pricing and access developments to shape pricing and contracting strategies, including early access programs.


Key collaborations and interactions

The Director is part of the MML VAP Execution and the Hematology WW Pricing and Execution teams. Success in this role requires working closely and efficiently with key partners:

  • Affiliate VAP therapy area and product leads
  • Global VAP strategy, HEOR and pricing leads
  • Cross-functional colleagues, especially Commercial, Medical Affairs and Regulatory
  • The Director will also contribute on an ad-hoc basis to VAP initiatives outside of the specific product and therapy area.


Performance measurement

  • Interaction with affiliates and cross-functional teams to ensure affiliate execution of VAP inline and launch plans for MML products
  • Achievement MML VAP targets (pricing and access)
  • Achievement of personal goals.


PREREQUISITES

Experience in pharmaceutical VAP in Hematology, Oncology, Immunology or other innovative and complex treatments.


Skills/Knowledge required

  • Understands and articulates global company strategy and pricing principles and how those influence and are reflected in the specific product strategies
  • A true team player who builds strong working relationships based on trust and transparency and “gets things done” with minimal supervision
  • Strong project management skills with experience managing external vendors
  • Excellent business communication skills (listening, presenting, sharing complex ideas)
  • Flexible in personal work style to engage effectively across countries and cultures
  • Strong fluency in English is mandatory; speaking another language is appreciated.


VAP competencies required

  • >5 years’ experience in VAP and Commercial roles in international and affiliate teams
  • Above country experience coordinating VAP strategy across markets
  • Current pricing & reimbursement knowledge of the major markets and the requirements to achieve successful results in each (Western Europe, Japan, Canada)
  • Understanding of the dynamics, potential and trends in managed entry agreements, contracting, reference pricing and pricing conditions (e.g. orphan incentives)
  • Collaborative negotiation skills with experience putting VAP strategies into practice

Travel: Travel within Europe and internationally, estimated ~30% of working time.
