Formulation and Cost Pricing Director – Cargill – Genf, GE

Position Purpose & Summary

The position is open worldwide

This role reports to the Animal Nutrition & Helath (ANH) Risk Management and Sourcing (RMS) Director, has an Enterprise global scope and is part of the RMS Leadership Team. The principal accountability is to deploy best practices, systems and processes for the formulation and cost into pricing key capabilities of the RMS Diamond across the entire ANH Enterpise. The role has a direct team of experts, however it will influence and lead the RMS and pricing teams in all our businesses.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Strong partnership with Strategic Marketing & Technology (SMT) and commercial teams on new ingredients, formulation and cost into pricing elements of the RMS Diamond System. (see last page)

  • Reinforce adherence to global nutrition principles & best optimization practices in partnership with SMT

  • Build, develop and enhance tools and capabilities within the RMS formulation organization

  • Clarify RASCIs for key decisions in RMS Formulation, so that Formulation and Sourcing are empowered to drive towards the lowest possible cost for ANH

  • Improve quality of Shadow Feeds for species per region with his/her team of experts

  • Develop Formulation Architect capability across the Enterprise. Lead and drive the implementation of this new role in businesses.

  • Develop Global Relative Value formulation Expert role and capabilities

  • Ensure that RMS value created is captured through pricing

  • Increase transparency of cost buildup used for pricing

  • Formalize Bull/Bear scenarios, Tracker Feed modeling and COGS reduction handoffs from Sourcing / Formulation to Pricing teams

  • Align cost sets and the price build model to be able to identify margin leakage and track value capture elements through to AOE

  • Define ownership and accountability for cost into pricing elements


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

  • 10 years in animal feed businesses with risk management and sourcing experience

  • Strong understanding of global ingredients flows and markets.

  • Strong understanding and experience in formulation and pricing for feed

  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively within a global organization.

  • Exceptional teaming skills encompassing cross-functional teams, peer relationships, informing, understanding and appreciating differences.
