Head of Procurement Indirect Materials & Services – EMEA – Your future position?
As the Head of Procurement IM&S for the EMEA region you will manage indirect spend regionally and drive the procurement strategy and saving plans in line with global and regional category strategies. You will establish a clear regional IM&S vision and strategy in alignment with the global IM&S strategy focusing on value creation and the bottom line. You will lead and develop the IM&S team (12 FTE based in different sites) and you will report to the Global Head of IM&S and be part of the global IM&S leadership team.
In this exciting role you will cover the company-wide IM&S spend (flavours & fragrances and shared Services) for EMEA. Indirect procurement spend in Givaudan covers all spend not being a raw material (e.g. packaging, logistics, maintenance, Capex, Professional Services, HR, IT, Travel , Marketing). You will have the opportunity of further shaping the transition and leading the change management towards simplification and implementation of IM&S processes and the close collaboration with our GBS center in Budapest. You will be either based in Vernier – Geneva or in Kemptthal – Zurich in Switzerland. Due to the nature of your role, you will have to travel mostly within the EMEA region.
You will foster close collaboration with regional and key site stakeholders and ensure understanding of business needs to be able to source best. You will establish and implement structural stakeholder engagement plan. You will foster a close relationship with key suppliers in alignment with the strategy. You will ensure compliance with IM&S purchasing policies. You will be an active member of the Global IM&S Leadership Team.
Drive Procurement initiatives for EMEA region
You will drive procurement programs budgeting process for the region in collaboration with stakeholders and global and regional category team. You will ensure high standards of predictability and alignment with the stakeholders. You will manage procurement strategies for regional and local categories including differentiating ideas. You will collaborate closely with Continuous Improvement teams to drive initiatives beyond savings.
Coordinate Global IM&S procurement plans within EMEA
You will represent the region when developing and deploying global sourcing strategies and framework agreements. You will measure supplier performance and feed information back to Global and regional Category Managers. You will analyse local markets, identify local suppliers, alternative products or services and you will communicate market intelligence to Category Managers. You will implement with your team global strategies and ensure contract compliance.
Develop and manage regional/site sourcing activities and suppliers
In collaboration with global and regional category management, you will manage supplier relationships on a regional level resolving conflicts and potential bottlenecks. You will support supplier rationalization ensuring the right commercial priorities are applied. You will ensure the security of supply, quality compliance and commercial compliance. You will actively support sustainability and innovation programs and risk assessments.
You will build a passionate regional IM&S organization by attracting, training and developing the right talents. You will develop a succession plan and will coordinate diverse talent management.
IM&S processes and systems
You will foster the transition to use of the right purchasing processes and channels (e.g. self-service procurement, preferred suppliers). You will also ensure that systems and processes are in place to support all audit requirements regarding “purchase to pay“. You will be the first point of contact for Givaudan Business Solutions Purchase to Pay organization in the region and you will contribute to improvement projects towards global processes

- At least 10 years of experience in Procurement and/or other Functional experience
- At least 5 years of proven people management experience in an international environment
- Excellent communication/story telling skills
- Change management skills – track record in managing culture and complex transformations
- Good understanding of procurement processes and systems
- True networker, builds network and engages smoothly with people at different levels and within different functions
- Cultural awareness and adaptable to fast-changing business requirements
- Continuous Improvement mindset and courage to challenge the current state
- Fluency in English, additional languages are a plus
- Availability to travel mostly within EMEA
